Customarily, a good king is a representation of the country. The king is supposed to have the qualities, values, and virtues that are considered "good" by the citizens. A condemned man, on the other hand, is usually viewed as someone who has negative attributes. The condemned man probably has qualities that contradict the values of the country. The king is the most respected and honored person, while a condemned man is disparaged and disrespected.
